Is this tour suitable for first-time visitors to Budapest?

Absolutely. Our tours are ideal for first-time visitors who want to go beyond the typical sights, discover a more hidden and authentic side of Budapest, and gain a deeper understanding of the city.

How many people are in a group?

We keep our groups small to ensure a personal and engaging experience. Our walks are limited to a maximum of 20 participants.

Is the tour guaranteed to run?

Yes. All our tours are guaranteed to run and do not depend on a minimum number of participants. Advance booking is required.

Are tours available in other languages?

Currently, our guaranteed tours are offered in English.

How can I contact you?

We are available by phone on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and you can also message us on Facebook or Instagram. We aim to respond as quickly as possible.

Do you offer private tours or team-building programs?

Yes! You can browse our team-building page or request a tailored offer at ajanlat@imagine.hu.

Please include your group size, language, preferred date, duration, and the type of program you have in mind. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

How much walking is involved?

Most tours cover around 2–2.5 km / 1.2–1.5 miles on flat urban terrain. The pace is lively but relaxed. Your guide always waits for the group and starts storytelling only once everyone has arrived at each stop.

Is the tour suitable for older participants or children?

Most of our tours take place on flat urban terrain and are suitable for older participants who are comfortable walking 2–2.5 km at a relaxed pace. Only the Párisi Udvar tour includes a longer staircase. For young children, however, a 2–2.5-hour city walk may feel too long or not active enough. If a tour is marked as not recommended for children under 12, we kindly ask that infants are not brought along either.

Is the tour accessible with a stroller or wheelchair?

While we do our best to assist, we cannot guarantee a completely obstacle-free route in the city. Strollers are possible, but we recommend using a baby carrier where feasible. If you are joining with a wheelchair, please contact us in advance so we can advise you on the specific route.

What time should I arrive?

Your guide will be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start time. We recommend arriving at least 5 minutes early to allow time for check-in.

What happens if I am late?

If you are running late, please check the tour page for instructions on how and where you can join the group. Please note that the group may not be able to wait after the scheduled start time.

If arriving by car, keep in mind that parking in downtown Budapest can be difficult.

Is there a restroom break?

Most tours last 2–2.5 hours, and in most cases we include a restroom stop. If this is important to you, please contact us in advance about the specific tour.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Tours run in all weather conditions unless severe weather is forecast. Please dress accordingly — and bring a raincoat if needed.

Where can I find the most important information about the program?

You can find all key details on the specific tour or event page on our website, as well as on the ticket attached to your booking confirmation email. Please check the program description and the “Tour Information” section carefully, as they include important details and participation conditions.

How will I recognize the guide?

Your guide will be waiting at the designated meeting point and wearing a white and purple badge with the Imagine logo.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

On tasting tours, menus are pre-arranged with our partners. While we cannot fully customize them, we do our best to accommodate dietary needs where possible. Please indicate any allergies or dietary restrictions in the comments section when booking.

Can I take photos or videos?

Yes, photography and filming are generally allowed, except in restricted areas (e.g. certain parts of Párisi Udvar). Your guide will let you know when restrictions apply.

How can I book a tour, and do I need to book in advance?

Yes, advance booking is required. Tickets can be purchased:

  • online through our website by credit card
  • in person at our office by card or cash during opening hours

On-site payment at the tour meeting point is not available.

Will I receive a confirmation email after booking?

Yes. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email including:

  • your ticket
  • your invoice
  • important tour details

You will also receive a reminder email 48 hours before the tour.

Can I cancel or modify my booking?

Yes. Please notify us in writing at info@imagine.hu at least 24 hours before the tour. If you would like to reschedule, let us know your preferred new date, and we will do our best to move your booking.

Cancellations or changes cannot be accepted less than 24 hours before the tour. However, you may transfer your ticket to someone else — simply forward them your confirmation email.

What is included in the price?

The ticket price includes:

  • the guided tour
  • entry to exclusive locations
  • tastings, where applicable, depending on the tour
