As a girl from Zalaegerszeg and later a university student in Pécs, my most defining memories of Budapest until adulthood were early morning train rides (interspersed with divine winter salami sandwiches) and visits to the zoo. Consequently, the only parts of the built heritage I knew firsthand were the Déli railway station and the metro stations… what can I say, it wasn’t love at first sight with the city back then, but it certainly was with the zoo and the animals. That is exactly why, after high school, I chose to study Biology in Pécs, with the firm intention of working with animals, or at least being close to them. From early childhood, I wanted to be an "elephant researcher." However, the inner workings of all living organisms and ecosystems fascinated me so much (a passion that remains unbroken to this day) that I embarked on mastering the profession with an immense thirst for knowledge. Since biology is one of the most wide-ranging sciences, after exploring many of its facets, I eventually committed to microbiology and graduated in this field. I worked in my profession for years, first at ELTE University, then at a research institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where my interest gradually shifted toward management. After that, I became a almost-florist, an almost-pastry-chef, and an almost-barista (each of these is a long story! :)), until I finally stumbled upon Imagine's job posting—and boom, that’s how I became office manager and finance coordinator in early 2020. A lot of water has flowed down the Danube since then—and I also became a mother. After returning, I didn’t step back into the office manager chair (though I still feel a bit nostalgic about it sometimes), but I continue to manage all the finances here at Imagine. Needless to say, over the past 11 years, I have also fallen deeply in love with the city. Even though I’ve been cycling across the Liberty Bridge for 4 years now, I still have to stop for a moment every single morning on the bridge or at Fővám Square, hold my breath, and just "be."
